It's been a long time!

Brandon and I were discussing recently how we never post anything on here! So, I decided to post today and give an update on our family...
Brandon and I will be celebrating 9 years of marriage this summer, Lucas is officially a 4 year old, Elayna is 2 and we are in full Medical School chaos! Life flies by so fast... Brandon and I have been together since May of 1999 and married since July 2002. God has blessed us tremendously over the years. Recently, Brandon felt led to try his hand at a new career - becoming a physician. At this point, Brandon has completed a few classes and is just over halfway through his first of 4 years of Medical School at UAMS. He has worked VERY hard and spends every night studying. He currently has all A's in the classes he is taking. As usual, he is doing an amazing job! He is also the class president for his fellow students. He has been working to get some programs rolling to aid incoming freshman prepare for this experience that has taken our family by storm. Life is crazy, but I am thankful that God is using this time in our life to help us communicate better and grow closer to each other. I am learning to be a better steward of my time and set priorities... Brandon is learning to be sensitive to others and manage his time as well. It isn't easy, but we are a family and we are committed to seeing this through together. Below is a picture of Brandon at the white coat ceremony...

Lucas turned 4 in January... only one more year before he starts school! We had an all-out Super Hero birthday party at our church to celebrate the event. Lots of our friends and family were able to make it and enjoy some Super Hero training! Our little heroes took out bad guys, hunted for power, tunneled to defuse bombs and practiced their martial arts by breaking boards (which were styrofoam of course)! They enjoyed some pizza and an amazing cake created by our dear friend Katie! It was chaos! But, apparently, that's a good thing for preschoolers! Lucas is now old enough for tee ball, so I will be signing him up this week... His daddy is, of course, excited about the start of his baseball career which, of course, will culminate in his being the youngest player to win the World Series eventually...
Elayna turned 2 in December 2010...she is so big! She had her first spa day at Rejuvenation Clinic with her Ameh and Aunt Jennifer. She kept showing me her nails for weeks! For her party, we stuck with a dinner at home with quesadillas and such. She had a blast. She started potty training a few weeks before her birthday and did an amazing job! She is, of course, always interested in doing whatever her brother is doing...which means instead of always wanting to play with her dolls and such, she can typically be found playing Batman with Lucas! As is typical, she and Lucas also spend a lot of time arguing over those same toys...but we are working on that and expect resolution shortly after one of them goes off to college! She does have her girly side too, though. She loves shoes and has her own fashion opinions which she expresses when I try to dress her...

I am working at our church, FSBC, full-time and loving it... God has always blessed me with a job that I find challenging and can enjoy. I have been blessed with a staff that is understanding and flexible concerning our family dynamics and the stresses that come with Brandon's school schedule and our children. I am able to be off when needed for my children and work from home when necessary also. I can't express my thankfulness for this opportunity.
Our family is busy, but so is everyone's... We do the best we can and try not to stress over the little things. I am so proud of Brandon's efforts to do well at school while also being home regularly to help with the kids...he is the best! Please continue to pray for us as we continue this journey. We look forward to the blessings God has planned for us as we enjoy the life He has given us.
